Don't believe all that stuff...

I rec'd an error code:  0x8086000c when trying to download ("purchase") a free app from the STORE in Windows 8.  I searched for help and found all these multiple steps:  check the date time stamp etc. etc.

I suspected there was a simpler answer.  But was unable to find it.  So I tried creating a NEW Microsoft account and then purchasing with that account (I was using what I thought was a valid account but received NO error message that no such account existed).  The account I set up was the same one I had thought was already set up!

Once I had the new account set up, no problem.

WINDOWS 8 is terrible!!!  WINDOWS 8.1 is WORSE!!!

I advise everyone - DON'T BUY WINDOWS 8.  Stay with XP or 7.  If you can't do that, get a Mac.  I didn't get a Mac with my last purchase because I didn't want to take the time to learn something new.  BIG MISTAKE.

I could have learned MAC easily in the time it has taken me to struggle with the crappy non-intuitive, too-many-steps Windows 8.  And after HOURS AND HOURS of problems, even using paid tech support from Lenovo, I am no where near competent in using Windows 8.  That's just wrong.
